We all know that owning an Aston Martin isn’t just about being seen in one of the most luxurious and sophisticated grand tourers on sale. It’s also because they’ve starred in most James Bond movies since the 1960s, and owning an Aston is about as close as you’ll get to being as cool as agent 007 himself.
Aston Martin knows this well, otherwise it wouldn’t sign deals to feature its cars in Bond flicks. With this in mind, the company has dived head-first into its love in with the James Bond franchise by releasing two 007 models.
The first model is the 007 Edition Vantage, which is inspired by the ski and jet engine-equipped Vantage from the 1987 film The Living Daylights. No, this one doesn’t come with any gadgets, but it does have yellow and black markings around the skirts as a nod to the movie car’s retractable skis. You can even get a set of skis that can be mounted on the back window, completed with the yellow and black hazard stripes.
Inside, the 007 Edition Vantage gets a decorative plaque that replicates the movie car’s gadget control panel, cross hairs on the paddle shifters and the 007 insignia on embroidered into the head rests.
The second model in the 007 range is the DBS Superleggera, which is inspired by the DBS that will be driven by Bond in the upcoming movie No Time To Die. No hints to gadgets here, sadly, but the 007 Edition DBS comes with carbon fibre highlights on the rear wing and diffuser, and there are 007 badges scattered both in and out of the GT.
If that sounds like your kind of car, you’ll need to act fast. Aston is only making 100 examples of the £161,000 Vantage, and only 25 versions of the £279,000 DBS Superleggera. To put that into context, the standard Vantage costs around £121,000, while the DBS will set you back about £225,000 – meaning the 007 cars carry a pretty hefty premium.
