Marking the 20th Anniversary of Sally Carrera, a character from the Pixar movie ‘Cars’, Porsche has announced that it has been working for several months to ‘create a unique car for a charitable auction’. The brand new 911 will be street legal, and proceedings from selling the one-off car will go towards life-changing programs for girls and young women through Girls Inc. as well as the USA for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to provide aid to children and their families affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
The one-off Sally Carrera will be based on the current-gen 911 Carrera
Sally Carrera won’t be a copy of the car from the movie franchise, but will rather be based on a current gen Porsche 911 Carrera, with design cues inspired by the movie character. The coupe will be produced in Zuffenhausen and it will then be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s.
Kjell Gruner, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, said that “Translating the spirit of Sally into a new 911 has been fascinating – this time the sports car is intended for our world, and to be driven and enjoyed – it will have a windscreen you can see out of, and shares its panels with the 911 we know and love. But, like Sally, its purpose is to help others – and that makes it extra special”, giving a few details as to what we can expect from the sky blue coloured sports coupe.
