We drove the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C 300 Pinnacle around for a week and got to know it inside and out. To be honest, there’s a lot to like about it, and it’s no wonder many luxury car buyers gravitate toward the C-Class. However, it’s not perfect. Here are three pros and two cons that we found.
Pro: The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C 300 Pinnacle is very comfortable

It should be no surprise that the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C 300 is comfortable to drive and spend time in. We had the top-trim Pinnacle model, which came with a leather interior, heated power-adjustable seats, and a tri-zone auto climate control. The cabin is also very spacious, despite being a smaller sedan, and there are soft-touch materials everywhere, which makes the car feel upscale.
We also really liked that all of the settings in the car were still activated after shutting the car off. In other cars, you have to reset everything (climate controls, heated seats, etc.) after restarting the car, which can be annoying.
Con: The Mercedes C-Class Pinnacle can get pricey with all of the options

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Pinnacle that we tested had a starting price of $45,550, which isn’t bad compared to rivals like the Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series. However, with all of the add-ons and options, our test car came out to $57,150, which is much higher than the price of entry.
Additionally, if you were to completely option out a C-Class, you would be looking to spend close to $65,000. That being said, this entry-level luxury car can get pricey.
Pro: The tech features are easy to use

On the bright side, the Mercedes C-Class has many tech features that are easy to use. We admit that the 11.9-inch touchscreen looked intimidating initially, but after poking around the menus, it was pretty intuitive. Additionally, it was easy to change the climate controls and the radio stations. However, we do wish that a volume control knob was present, but we’re just old school like that.
Con: You don’t get that much extra stuff with the Pinnacle trim

Although the Pinnacle trim level is the top tier for the C-Class, you actually don’t get that much extra stuff by choosing it. According to Mercedes-Benz, the Pinnacle trim level adds onboard navigation, navigation maps for one year, one year of live traffic information, augmented video for the navigation, and a head-up display.
Don’t get us wrong; those are some cool features. But considering the majority of the comfort and premium features that most buyers would want comes on the mid-tier Exclusive trim, it could be better to go with that.
Pro: The turbocharged four-cylinder engine is excellent

At first, we were on the fence about the C-Class’ turbocharged 2.0-liter engine as it felt a little weak. But after spending a week driving the car around, we can say that the 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque that the engine puts out is more than enough for daily commuting. You may not win any stoplight drag races against a BMW 3 Series, but you’ll be able to pass cars and get onto the freeway just fine.
Pros and cons of driving the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
There’s a lot to like about the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and it’s no wonder that many luxury car buyers are lured into the panache of owning one. This small sedan talks a big talk, but it has the chops to back it up. Just remember, don’t option it out too much, or you might be spending a little more than you wanted. Otherwise, this entry-level sedan is well worth a look.
