Well, it’s just about that time again. You may be wondering, “time for what?” It’s time for Chevrolet to take something sweet and simple and turn it into something more, or rather, something far less simple — though we’ll have to wait and see how sweet the redesigned Chevrolet Traverse actually is.
Our spy photographers caught a few snaps of the next-gen 2024 Traverse out testing on public roads, likely meaning a full reveal isn’t far out.
There’s some light camo covering the body of the three-row SUV, and some placeholder lighting is on the front and back. However, it seems like the photographed model may have a smaller footprint than the current one, an interesting turn of events as most vehicles tend to grow, becoming larger than necessary. Traverse currently rivals the Chevy Tahoe when it comes to length, but maybe it’s taking a step away and leaving the monstrous dimensions to that full-size SUV in the lineup.

The exterior looks a bit more aggressive than than outgoing model, but the shark-teeth-looking camouflage on the hood is definitely adding to the effect. Falling into place in the current lineup, the next-gen Traverse should have similar design features to the upcoming Equinox.
While the interior is also due for an update, it’s sure to make the once-simple Traverse at least a bit more complicated. When recently reviewing the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse, I noted the cabin’s simplicity made it stand out with very easy-to-use and intuitive buttons and features. While I loved it, I’ll also be the first to admit that it’s lacking technology-wise when it comes to its competition. The new Traverse will be refreshed with an all-new interior, a long horizontal display unit, and additional connectivity updates.
In 2022, the Traverse was refreshed. For 2023, it’s offered in six AWD trim levels — LS, LT, True North, RS, Premier and High Country — with one engine option, a 310-hp 3.6L V6 hooked up to a nine-speed automatic.
The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse is expected to debut later in 2023, and go on sale in the first half of 2024.
