From Europe to the Middle East, there’s a lot to see. Unreleased Porsche 911 Safari prototypes have been transported to the area’s desert, where they have being sought. A single spy shot clearly shows the German sports car’s crossover form sliding over the dunes.
The deserts around Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, and the entire Middle East area, in general, are yet another popular backdrop employed by the most opulent automobile companies. Land Rover, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Porsche are the brands that have been seen the most in these areas, while less premium brands like Nissan and Toyota have also been spotted because they offer particularly specific models in these regions.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen Porsche prototypes in the desert, tearing over the dunes and demonstrating that, despite their massive proportions or electric powertrains, they’re capable of handling with utter ease. And according to one of these heated scenarios, a prototype of the unreleased Porsche 911 Safari has been tracked somewhere in the Middle East. The German company has been developing a crossover based on the 911 for more than a year.
The Porsche 911 Safari has passed all of the desert SUV tests.
And there’s little question that it’s this model, because the prototype spotted matches the test units shown thus far perfectly. The context of this sighting, the sands of a desert, is intriguing, since it allows you to watch how this variation of the 911 unfolds.
The new Safari’s all-wheel drive system is based on the Carrera 4S, although it might potentially be based on the Carrera 4 GTS. What is truly a mystery, though, is what is hiding behind the hood. Because it will be a limited and highly rare version, Porsche will not hesitate to provide an opportunity to demonstrate power, even in the most demanding settings. But we won’t be able to view it until 2023.
