Honda Cars recently launched the facelifted version of the Honda City sedan in India at Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). What’s more interesting is that it is also the most affordable car in India with ADAS.
Diving into details, Honda has introduced two new entry-level trims levels with the facelifted version, and this move has helped the Japanese automaker price the 2023 iteration of the City sedan aggressively and introduce ADAS tech at a lower cost.
Thanks to the introduction of new entry-level trims, the 2023 Honda City (V) equipped with ADAS tech is now priced at Rs 12.37 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This makes it even more affordable than the MG Astor Savvy variant which has been priced at Rs 16.79 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Despite the aggressive price tag, the Honda City V trim continues to come equipped with keyless entry, push-button start, an 8-inch infotainment unit, camera-based ADAS tech, steering-mounted controls and a few more features.
However, the V trim does miss out on features such as LED headlights, auto-dimming frameless IRVM, leather-wrapped steering, soft-touch dashboard, sunroof, wireless charging pad, digital instrument cluster, and leatherette upholstery.
Moreover, the updated model now features two engine options that are compliant with the RDE emission norms and E20 fuel. The 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine produces 120bhp of power and 145Nm of torque, and can be specified with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT gearbox.
On the other hand, the 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle engine produces 97bhp of peak power and 127Nm of peak torque, whereas the electric motor that is part of the hybrid system puts out 108bhp. In combined form, the hybrid system produces a total of 125bhp and 253Nm of torque.
Thoughts About The 2023 Honda City Facelift
By introducing two new entry-level variants of the Honda City, the Japanese automaker has made their sedan a lot more affordable and the presence of ADAS tech at a lower price point will make the sedan irresistible for many buyers.
