Kia Australia has a new Seltos variant on the block, a front-drive version of the GT-Line that will kick off from $38,790 before on-road costs.
Officially billed as a ‘Limited Edition’, CarsGuide understands that the GT-Line FWD could become a permanent fixture to the Seltos line-up with the introduction of the facelifted model due later this year.
The GT-Line FWD Limited Edition will sit above the entry-level S (from $27,290 BOCs), Sport (from $30,290) and Sport+ (from $33,790), while also costing more than the Sport+ AWD (from $37,290) but below the GT-Line AWD (from $42,700).
An official announcement and full specification details from Kia on the Seltos GT-Line FWD Limited Edition is earmarked for the coming weeks, but the new grade will likely mirror the GT-Line AWD in equipment.
This means 18-inch wheels, LED lighting all round, interior ambient lighting, a 7.0-inch driver display, head-up display, faux-leather seats, power-adjustable front seats with heating and cooling, heated steering wheel, push-button start, keyless entry, single-zone climate control and automatic wipers.
Handling multimedia duties should be a 10.25-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, wireless smartphone charger, Bluetooth audio streaming and eight-speaker sound system.

On the safety front, the GT-Line AWD has a reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, driver attention warning, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert – which are features that should be mirrored in the GT-Line FWD Limited Edition.
Powering the GT-Line FWD Limited Edition is the same 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that propels all other front-drive Seltos grades.
This means 110kW/180Nm being pushed to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which should mean a fuel economy rating of 6.8 litres per 100km if the existing front-drive Seltos figures are anything to go by.
