Hyundai Australia has increased the prices of some of its hardcore N model line-up, with the performance versions of the i20 light car, i30 hathback and Kona SUV now more expensive to buy.
The increase across all three models is $500, and attributed to “a rise in transport and manufacturing costs”, according to Hyundai Australia.
This means the six-speed manual-only i20 N now wears a recommended retail price of $32,990 before on-road costs, which still makes it more affordable than its $33,490 Ford Fiesta ST arch-rival.
The i30 N hatchback meanwhile, now kicks off at $45,000 for the manual and $48,000 for the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The i30 N Premium is also up $500 to $48,000, while the N Premium grade with sunroof will now set buyers back $49,500 for the manual and $52,500 for the automatic.
Buyers looking at the i30 Fastback N Limited Edition ($49,000 for the manual, $52,000 for the automatic) or i30 Sedan N Premium ($49,000 for the manual or automatic) won’t have to worry about the price rise as these models are unaffected.
Finally, the auto-only Kona N also moves up to $48,000 for the base grade, while the N Premium variant is now $51,000.
Equipment levels remain the same across the board, while engine and transmission settings also carryover.
As a reminder, the i20 N is powered by a 150kW/275Nm 1.6-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine, while the i30 N and Kona N score a 206kW/392Nm 2.0-litre engine, with drive sent to the front axles of all three models.
Like all Hyundai’s models, the N line-up comes with a five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty that also covers untimed, non-competitive track usage.
