BANGKOK: Toyota Motor Thailand brought in the all-new GR Supra sports car at the 40th Bangkok International Motor Show 2019.
The fifth generation of Toyota’s legendary sports car and the first global GR model to be produced by Toyota Gazoo Racing, the GR Supra had made its world debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January.
It is powered by a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine with a twin-scroll turbocharger that produces 335bhp and 500Nm of torque, and this is matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Adhering to the classic form of a front-mounted, straight-six engine driving the rear wheels, it builds on the heritage of Toyota’s past Supra generations and original 2000GT sports car.
It is fitted with 19-inch wheels and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres sized 255/35 (front) and 275/35 (rear) and also, a four-pot Brembo brake system.
Toyota Gazoo Racing was instrumental in honing the new sports car’s performance, working extensively on the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife and surrounding roads in Germany in order to achieve the most agile, stable and rewarding handling.
