It is one of Swedens largest charging stations for electric trucks and was put into operation by E-Mobility, a subsidy of the Soltech Group. The 15 fast-charging points are located at Göteborgs Lastbilscentral (GLC) hub in the Swedish city.
The charging points have a combined output of one megawatt and will be available to GLC’s co-owners and drivers’ day and night.
The technology for the new charging station was provided by the Finnish company Kempower. The company recently formed a consortium with Swedish charge point operator Nimbet and Finish infrastructure service provider Virta, in order to set up a Sweden-wide charging network for electric trucks. The total number of planned charging points was not disclosed.
There are currently about 85,000 heavy trucks using Swedish roads. The country wants to decarbonise road freight transport by no later than 2045.
