Hennessey Ram TRX Mammoth 1000 Supercharged Pickup mammoth roars and flattens in the video
Hennessey Performance has a new favorite toy: the Ram TRX performance pickup. After the three- now comes the two-axle version with a little less power, but still enough power.
It was clear that Ram had the relevant tuners with the new model 1500 TRX provides a perfect template. The performance pickup has the legendary Hellcat engine in the bow: eight cylinders in a V configuration, supercharging, 6.2 liter displacement, 712 hp and a maximum of 881 Newton meters – these are the series values, mind you. Hennessey Performance is the first company to use the steep pass in a targeted manner. In fact several times: According to the particularly extreme three-axis variant and in addition to an SUV version, the Texans presented the somewhat slimmed-down two-axle version at the beginning of the year, of which the first examples have now been produced.
The TRX conversions are nicknamed Mammoth, which seems quite appropriate. After all, not only are the dimensions of the pickups gigantic as a mammoth, but also their technical data. Compared to the three-axle vehicle, Hennessey upgraded the two-axle pickup and SUV a little, but there is still more than enough power.
Up to 1,026 hp and a maximum of 1,314 Newton meters
The Mammoth 900 variant, with its 925 hp and a maximum of 1,184 Newton meters, is the basic model – the term rarely seemed so misplaced. The Mammoth 1000 ranks above this: Here the Hellcat V8 even delivers 1,026 hp and a maximum of 1,314 Newton meters via an eight-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels, which is the zero to 60 mph time (96.6 km / h) 4.5 seconds to 3.2 seconds. Hennessey estimates a time of 11.4 seconds for the quarter mile, with 193 km / h at the finish line.
