Mercedes-Maybach has announced the price of the new-generation S-Class in India. The new model is available in two variants – S 580 and S 680 4MATIC. The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class made its debut in the global markets in November 2020 and has finally arrived in the Indian market.

What makes Mercedes-Maybach S-Class different from the standard S-Class?
While the Maybach S-Class is based on the V233 S-Class Long wheelbase, Maybach has stretched it further by 180mm. It is visibly longer than the standard model. To set it apart further, there is a louvred Maybach grille with extra chrome detailing on the bumper that adds to the luxurious look.
The new car is available in two trims – S 580 and S 680
The Maybach limousine also gets specific alloy wheels. There are additional Maybach monikers around the car including the tailgate and the C-Pillars. Customers can also choose a dual-tone paint job on the new Maybach S 680. The entry-level assembled in India model will be available with a single-tone paint job.
Is the Maybach cabin more luxurious?
While the cabin is not much different from the standard S-Class, there are Maybach specific updates including the complete leather upholstery. All the displays in the front and the rear seats now get the Maybach-specific graphics.
The rear seats are get full floor console
The rear gets additional space because of the longer wheelbase. The Maybach also gets electronically powered rear seats. The seats are individual and are separated by a full-length floor console in the S 680. The left rear seat also gets an option to completely stretch out into a semi-bed at a push of a button. It also moves the co-driver seat forward on its own.
What are the additional features available with Maybach S-Class?
The car gets new all-leather upholstery
The new Maybach packs a longer list of features compared to the standard version. It gets additional features like adaptive air suspension, individual climate zones, powered front and rear seats, heated and ventilated seats, seat massage function, chauffeur package and more.
The Maybach S-Class also gets a massive panoramic sunroof. The rear doors can be electrically shut down with gesture control. There are rear-seat entertainment screens and a 1,750W Burmester 4D sound system. The limousine also offers a 360-degree camera and a hands-free parking system.
The new S-Class also gets Level-2 Autonomous Driving System. It includes systems like evasive steering assist, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep and lane change assist. The new Maybach S-Class comes with as many as 13 airbags as standard.
What powers the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class?
The most expensive variant gets a price tag of Rs 3.2 crore
The new Mercedes-Maybach is available with two engine options. The entry-level S 580 gets the 4.0-litre V8 mild-hybrid engine. The S 580’s engine generates a maximum power of 503 PS and a peak torque of 700 Nm. The mild-hybrid system provides an additional 20 PS and a peak torque of 200 Nm. The most powerful S 680 gets a 6.0-litre V12 engine that generates a maximum power of 612 PS and a peak torque of 900 Nm. Both the engine options get a 9-speed automatic transmission as standard.
