The tS adds gold-coloured Brembo brakes and tuned suspension to the BRZ package, but it hasn’t been confirmed for Australia … yet
Subaru has launched a flagship tS version of the second-generation BRZ coupe for the North American market.
Following on from the last-generation tS which was offered with the first-generation BRZ in Australia, the new version has been officially revealed at the 2023 Subiefest in California.
The tS variant adds gold-painted Brembo brakes and front and rear STI-tuned Hitachi dampers to the already widely-praised BRZ package.
Subtle hints such as badging show that this is the tS variant
No engine modifications or enhancements have been made to the tS – much like the last tS that was made available in Australia. The BRZ currently has outputs of 173kW/250Nm thanks to a 2.4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-four engine.
While the previous generation tS features more extroverted styling than the base model, including a more aggressive bumper design and a large rear spoiler, the new-generation appears to be much more calm in its design, with the only noticeable aesthetic changes being subtle tS badging around the car.
Eyesight debuts on tS, coming to Australian BRZs in 2024
Engine power and torque outputs remain the same as before
Subaru has added its Eyesight safety system to the manual BRZ tS for the first time, a feature not previously offered.
A Subaru Australia spokesperson told Chasing Cars that “we don’t have any specific news to share about the recently unveiled model (tS) at Subiefest California.
“Stay tuned for more information about the MY24 Subaru BRZ Australian specification, which will be released in due course”.
Gold Brembo brakes and STI-tuned suspension feature
Subaru Australia has previously confirmed that Eyesight safety for the manual variant of the BRZ will be coming to locally-delivered cars as part of the MY24 update.
