Mitsubishi has confirmed the reveal date for the new 2024 Triton ute less than a week after the date was leaked by a Thai motoring magazine.
In about a month, on July 26, the new Triton will debut in Thailand, with the brand revealing some of its design via a teaser video and some shadowy studio photos. Between the camouflaged XRT concept revealed previously and these images, which CarsGuide has edited to show more detail, it’s not difficult to work out what the Triton looks like.
In the material released today, Mitsubishi’s Manager of Design Seiji Watanabe referred to the “beefed-up” philosophy behind the new rival to the Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger as ‘Beast Mode’.
“The all-new Triton has been completely reimagined under the design concept ‘Beast Mode’, or audacious and daring,” said Watanabe.
“While expressing the toughness and powerfulness expected of a pickup truck, the all-new Triton combines agility with the brand’s robust design to create an imposing look.”

Koichi Namiki, Executive Officer of Product Strategy, told CarsGuide at an April media conference in Japan that an electric ute would also be inevitable, though wouldn’t confirm it’d definitely be called Triton.

“I think at some point in the near future we have to have a BEV in Australia for sure. When? That’s a difficult question.”
