The Lamborghini Avetnador’s successor in the Revuelto made its official debut back in March. Thanks to the team at CarSpyMedia on YouTube, we now have a chance to see the hybrid V-12-powered Lamborghini Revuelto hit the Nürburgring Nordschleife for the first time.
The Revuelto is only the sixth V-12 mid-engine flagship to come out of Sant’Agata Bolognese since the Miura kicked off the lineage in 1966. The Revuelto brings with it only the third V-12 engine in Lamborghini history, measuring in at 6.5-liters. Don’t let the familiar capacity fool you, as everything from the block to the rotating assembly is new for this next-generation supercar. The naturally-aspirated motor provides 813 hp and can rev all the way up to 9500 RPM. Backing that engine is an oil-cooled axial flux electric motor at each front wheel, which draw power from a 3.8-kWh battery. The motors provide torque vectoring while boosting output to 1001 hp. An eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox handles shifts, now mounted behind the engine for the first time since the aforementioned Miura. Lamborghni says the Revuelto will do 0-62 mph in 2.5 seconds, and should hit 218 mph flat out.

Unleashing over 1000 hp on the Nürburgring would be a daunting endeavor, but the Revuelto seems to be quite composed around the track. There’s only a hint of broken traction in the clip, though traffic on the course did keep the car from really pushing the pace. The new engine sounds good, albeit a bit quiet for a V-12 Lamborghini. The fact that there are no turbochargers muffling the exhaust note is a win regardless. It should be an exciting day when Lamborghini decides to send this hybrid supercar around the Nordschleife in proper anger. The Aventador SVJ managed to post a time of 6:44.97 with all of its aero adjustments. We’ll have to see how close the Revuelto can get to that with four-digit horsepower on its side.
