Wild Aventador-based roadster and coupe bid farewell to Italian car-maker’s non-hybrid V12
Lamborghini has unwrapped two new one-off supercars to celebrate the end of its non-electrified V12 era ahead of the reveal of the all-new Lamborghini Aventador replacement “in the coming weeks”.
Bidding farewell to the 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12, both the Lamborghini Invencible coupe and the Autentica roadster are based on the current Aventador, sharing the outgoing Lambo flagship’s powertrain and carbon-fibre monocoque chassis.
Described by the Italian firm as “the final salute” to its non-electrified V12, both produce 573kW of power and 720Nm of torque and channel their significant might to all four wheels via a seven-speed automated manual transmission.

No performance figures have been released, but both the Invencible and Autentica should sprint to 100km/h in around 2.8 seconds and top out at more than 355km/h.
Designed by Lamborghini’s Centre Stile design team, the Invencible and Autentica are a compilation of the most striking recent V12-powered Lambos, borrowing its jutting front splitter design from wild supercars like the Reventon and Veneno, while the vertical struts look they’ve been lifted from the track-only Essenza SCV12.
Even the ultra-lightweight Sesto Elemento appears to have lent its rear wing to the Invencible coupe.

To create the dramatic design, both cars are made from a full-carbon-fibre body and come with an unusual triple exhaust outlets that feature aerospace-derived Inconel tips.
Inside and out there are also plenty of hexagon references, from its triple tail-lights to the shape of the exhausts and interior air-vents.
The pair of new Lamborghini supercars sport a surprisingly simple, stripped-out cabin design that’s said to have been designed to help “focus attention on pure driving enjoyment”.
That explains why there’s a complete lack of infotainment and multimedia tech, although there is what looks like a configurable digital instrument cluster ahead of the driver.
It’s thought the next-generation Aventador successor will come with an all-new hybrid powertrain based around a new V12 that could share nothing with the outgoing engine.
Commenting on the two new one-offs, Lamborghini boss Stephan Winkelmann said: “As we head towards embracing a new era of hybridization at the heart of our Cor Tauri strategy, this is the Lamborghini way of celebrating the naturally aspirated V12 with two one-off vehicles that perfectly represent our concept of excellence in personalisation.”
It’s clear from patent images leaked three weeks ago that the Aventador’s hybrid replacement will share design cues with the one-off Invencible and Autentica, including its angular headlights and side air intakes.
