- Lamborghini will reveal the “all-terrain” Huracan Sterrato in December at Art Basel
- The lifted supercar variant will be the company’s last non-electrified new vehicle
- The Huracan Sterrato rides almost two inches taller than a regular Huracan
After several teaser images and videos, we now have concrete information about the impending arrival of the wild, high-riding Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato. In a press release touting the carmaker’s best-ever nine-month earnings period, Lamborghini confirmed the “all-terrain” supercar will premiere at Art Basel in Miami, scheduled to take place from December 1 through 3.
Cleverly tucked away in the same press release is the fact this will be the last Lamborghini model powered purely by an internal-combustion engine. Henceforth, every new vehicle with the raging-bull logo will be electrified to some extent until at least 2028, when Lamborghini’s first all-electric model is expected to debut.
That, and the fact this is the final ever Huracan variant, too, makes the Huracan Sterrato all the more special, and guarantees that one of Lamborghini’s most successful models signs off on a high note.
The Huracan Sterrato concept was first unveiled in 2019 and represented Lamborghini’s interpretation of what an off-road supercar should look like. It is based on the standard Huracan, but sports a light bar, roof rails, widened wheel arches, aluminum skid plate, and a reworked suspension specifically tailored for off-road excursions. The Huracan Sterrato also sits at least 1.85 inches higher than the standard car, ideal for when the car ventures off paved roads.

The production version, judging from various spy shots, does not appear to be much different from the concept. Lamborghini has yet to confirm if the production version will wear a “Sterrato” badge, but it did file a trademark for that name sometime in the fall of 2021. It is certainly spot-on, because Sterrato is Italian for “dirt,” hinting at the car’s ability to strut its stuff on gravel and other rough surfaces.
Lamborghini has described the final Huracan variant as a model that will “create a new segment in the super sports car world.” The idea of a thoroughbred off-road supercar has already generated quite some buzz within the car community. It is quite possible that Lamborghini’s off-road supercar will only be the first in a long line of similar models.
