The highly anticipated BYD Atto 3 has made local landfall, with the first vehicle in Melbourne set to be presented to Victoria’s first buyer at a public event, held tomorrow on Wednesday September 7.
This will be the first opportunity for the Victorian public to lay eyes on one of Australia’s newest EV SUV challengers, with the presentation taking place on the corner of LaTrobe Street and Harbour Esplanade, Docklands, at 12 noon on Wednesday.
The vehicle will be presented to the buyer by BYD MD Luke Todd, ahead of an impending national rollout, with over 4500 Atto 3s said to have already been sold.
There are two variants available to buyers, with the entry-level 50kWh Atto 3 asking $44,381 (before on-roads and without applicable state incentives), and the larger 60kWh vehicle, asking $47,381.
Luke Todd stated: “We are so excited to be a part of such a significant milestone in Australia, where we can ring in the start of a new era in motoring – bringing affordable EV’s to Australians and changing the landscape to greener, more affordable transport in the country”.
Following the public presentation in Docklands, a special BYD buyer event will be held in the evening of Wednesday September 7, from 6pm to 8pm at Hotel Chadstone, Chadstone.
The Victorian unveiling succeeds the first national viewing of the BYD Atto 3, revealed last month by Socceroos star, and part owner of BYD Distributors EVDirect, Tim Cahill at AutoMall West in Brisbane.
The BYD order books are currently open, with customer deliveries expected by the end of the year. Victorians will have their earliest opportunity to view the car in person in Docklands Melbourne, Wednesday September 7.
