In addition to the engine upgrades, the Aston is also equipped with a nine-speed wet-clutch gearbox and modified e-diff with a shorter final drive for better acceleration. The all-wheel drive is still the same system in the regular DBX though but it can catapult the SUV forward at breakneck speeds.
The motor is also good for 900 N.m of torque which is a 200 N.m increase from before, quite substantial numbers from the same V8 mill. This translates into a 0-100 km time in 3,3 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h. The 2,2-tonne mass thus holds the title as the fastest production SUV ever produced, despite the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and Tesla Model X Plaid EV putting out slightly more power. Hats off to the brave souls who are willing to put this to the test in the tall model.
The first Aston Martin DBX 707 production model which will soon be in the care of its first owner is finished in blue with a matching interior. More will begin to roll off of the production line to fulfil orders and line select dealership floors.
