Maserati South Africa announced they will enter 2021 with a line-up of new models, and launch “the world’s most beautiful supercar” – the new MC20 – in the country.
The first new model to be launched will be the Maserati Ghibli Hybrid, and after this the company’s focus will shift more towards high-performance cars – with the launch of a complete range of Trofeo models.
This includes models such as the Levante Trofeo, which is already available in the country, along with bespoke versions of the Ghibli Trofeo and Quattroporte Trofeo.
Both the Ghibli and Quattroporte are fitted with a Ferrari-sourced V8 engine in their Trofeo specification and will deliver 433kW of power to the rear wheels.
Top speed is then 326km/h.
After the launch of the Ghibli Hybrid and Trofeo range, the next model to be introduced to South Africa will be the MC20 supercar.
The MC20 – MC short for Maserati Corse – will make its debut mid-2021, and will arrive locally towards the end of the year.
This car ushers in a new era for the Italian brand, as it is fitted with a new V6 engine that produces 463kW of power and is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds – according to Maserati.
The MC20 was voted the world’s most beautiful supercar at the 2021 Festival Automobile International.
