- What's the correct tyre pressure for my 2019 Kia Sportage?
Driving around with the incorrect tyre pressure can have some adverse effects, such as impairing your passengers' safety or increasing your fuel consumption. Get the right tyre pressure for your Sportage here.
Under Pressure
If you need the correct tyre pressure for your Kia Sportage, you only need to open the fuel flap to see how firmly those tyres should be pumped.
KIA recommends a minimum tyre pressure of 2.4bar for the 2019 Kia Sportage. This is equal to 240 kPa and 35 psi.

Disadvantages of under-inflation
While it’s mostly acceptable to let some air out of your tyres when driving on soft sand or doing serious off-roading, driving around with under-inflated tyres on a daily basis could eventually lead to tyre failure. This is because the lower inflation pressure will cause the tyres to bend more as they roll. Increased heat and rolling resistance mean that you will use up to 5% more fuel, and your car also won’t corner and steer as well as it should. Your tyres’ tread life could also be reduced by up to 25%, and you will have to replace those pricey tyres more often.
Disadvantages of over-inflation
It makes sense that the harder the tyre is pumped, the harder the ride will be. Over-inflated tyres also run the risk of being damaged more easily if you drive over bumps or potholes. While cornering stability and steering response will be improved somewhat, we don’t recommend pumping your SUV’s tyres too hard, as it’s simply not meant to be driven like a hot hatch.
