Someone forgot to look where they were going.
lsx.videosInstagramSome crashes are unavoidable. But others are painfully easy to keep from happening. Crashes that, if the driver or drivers were paying just a bit more attention, would’ve never occurred. One such example is this crash involving a C8 Corvette and a Lexus SUV.
Video making the rounds on social media on Tuesday shows an orange Chevy Corvette convertible on a temporary license plate driving straight into the back of a white Lexus LX 570 on a busy street. The driver of the Corvette was looking back at a person riding on the C8’s rear decklid right before the two vehicles made contact.
The Corvette was moving slowly enough at the time of the crash that no one appeared to be seriously injured, judging by the video.
Though speeds were slow, the Corvette looks to have sustained some serious damage, with a visibly smashed bumper and a pierced radiator. Smoke can be seen billowing from the C8’s hood and coolant can be seen leaking onto the ground as the cameraperson drives by. The only damage we can see to the Lexus is a pushed-in lower bumper cover.
A suggestion for people out there driving C8s: Maybe look where you’re going. In fact, everyone on the road should take that advice. Maybe then fewer dumb crashes like this would happen.
