The MG4 is MG’s all-new zero-emissions small hatchback.
MG has officially confirmed its next all-electric model, the all-new MG4 small hatchback.
That’s right; the popular MG3 light hatchback is getting a big brother, one which has the Nissan Leaf, Hyundai Ioniq, Ora Good Cat, Cupra Born and Volkswagen ID.3 firmly in its sights.
In a tweet overnight, MG UK revealed the MG4 will make its debut in the fourth quarter of this year with zero-emissions power.
That said, the Chinese brand has already confirmed the MG4 measures 4300mm in length and was “developed with the UK consumer in mind”.
However, expect the MG4 to be sold across Europe and also in native China. Australia is a strong possibility, too, as local brand representatives have expressed interest for such a model in the past.

Either way, a teaser video of the MG4 has already been released, showing its aerodynamic alloy wheels, sculpted side doors, panoramic sunroof and bridge-like tail-light signature.
But if you’re really wondering what the MG4’s exterior will look like in all its glory, wonder no more, as leaked patent images were published by Car News China earlier this week. Needless to say, it gives MG more of an edge.
It’s worth noting MG UK hasn’t actually confirmed the MG4 moniker for the next-generation EV, but the website link in its tweet goes to a URL that references it as such. Stay tuned.
