Volkswagen Australia has confirmed the facelifted T-Roc small SUV will arrive on our shores in August with more luxurious interior materials and key technology upgrades.
The core T-Roc range kicks off with the Style, with a starting price of $37,250 before on-road costs, while the AWD-equipped Sport grade has been renamed the ‘R-Line’ to fall into line with Volkswagen’s modern grade structure and starts at $45,250.

The updated prices represent an increase of $1750 and $2550 respectively when compared to the pre-facelifted T-Roc line-up.
August will also see the introduction of the flagship T-Roc R which is priced at $59,300 before on-road costs and will provide a high-performance option currently unmet by rivals such as the Mazda CX-30, Honda HR-V or Peugeot 2008.
T-Roc to include more features as standard
Volkswagen has gone some way to justify the price bump by fitting out the T-Roc Style with a range of new features such as a wireless phone charger, an 8.0-inch digital driver’s display, tinted rear windows and swapped out the previous cloth seats for a microfleece upholstery.
The massaged exterior features a revised front and rear bumper design with 18-inch ‘Grange Hill’ alloy wheels sitting at each corner, while inside Volkswagen has addressed a key criticism of the interior and implemented a soft-touch dashboard.
The ‘Sport’ grade is now known as the R-Line and features AWD as well as more aggressive styling
Carrying over from the pre-facelifted model are features such as dual-zone climate control, a leather steering wheel, LED ambient lighting and an 8.0-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto.
Buyers can enhance the equipment list by opting for the $2000 Sound & Vision package which adds wireless capability for the phone connectivity, a larger 10.25–inch digital driver’s display and a Beats premium audio system.
Those craving a more lush interior can opt for a $3450 package that adds Vienna leather upholstery, heated front seats and an electronically adjustable driver’s seat.

The standard safety package has also been bolstered by the inclusion of adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist, with a six airbag system and features such as AEB with pedestrian detection a self-parking function and rear traffic alert.
Powering the T-Roc style is Volkswagen’s mainstay 110kW/250Nm 1.4-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine which drives the front wheels via an eight-speed torque converter automatic.
R-Line grade ups the sporting credentials
The T-Roc R-Line carries over many of the same upgrades as the base model including the wireless phone charger but opts for an ‘R-line’ branded interior design complete with sportier fabric-clad seats and leather steering wheel.
A voice control function is also now fitted as standard and joins existing features such as the inbuilt navigation system and wireless connectivity for the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Nappa leather seat material combined with heated seats and electronic adjustment for the driver can be added as part of a package for $3950.
A black pack is also offered on the T-Roc
In an effort to provide a more sporting flavour over the Style, Volkswagen has fitted the T-Roc R-Line with a more aggressive suspension setup, progressive steering along with unique exterior styling.
Volkswagen paired the T-Roc R-Line with a gruntier 140kW320Nm 2.0-litre turbo–petrol four-cylinder engine coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.
An optional $2900 Black Style package can also be added which lives up to its name by adding larger 19-inch alloy wheels and a smattering of interior and exterior details all in the shade of midnight – plus automatically adjusting adaptive dampers and a Beats premium audio system.
