Volkswagen Australia has partnered with German automotive accessories specialist Seikel to create two new Alpine off-road packages for the Amarok V6 dual-cab pick-up, which will be available from the second quarter of this year.
Just 100 examples of the Alpine and Alpine Plus off-road packages are up for grabs, with the former priced from $6090, while the latter costs $12,090. Both can be fitted to automatic variants of the current-generation Amarok V6’s Core, Sportline, Highline and Aventura grades.
The entry-level Alpine off-road package includes a Koni Raid off-road kit (twin-tube shock absorbers with a unique front cast-steel lower retainer, front Eibach springs with top and bottom plates, a fully pre-assembled front suspension strut, a rear 25mm spacer with bespoke leaf-spring brackets and additional supports and bump stops), a polyethylene snorkel and wheelarch cladding.
Meanwhile, the flagship Alpine Plus off-road package also bundles in rock sliders, door cladding and a breather kit for the front and rear differentials, transmission and transfer case. The rear differential and transmission also get protection plates alongside the engine.
The Sportline and Highline are separately available with a $1590 off-road tyre package, which features five General Grabber AT3 255/60 R18 112 H XL tyres.
For reference, Seikel has been one of Volkswagen’s ‘premium partners’ since 2012, with the Alpine and Alpine Plus off-road packages covered by a factory-backed five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.
As reported, the original Amarok will be replaced in early 2023 by a yet-to-be-revealed next-generation model that’s based on the ‘T6.2’ Ford Ranger. It’s set to make its debut later this year, so stay tuned.
