Vauxhall simplifies its popular Corsa and Mokka models with clearer differences between versions and updated pricing across the range

The Vauxhall Corsa and Vauxhall Mokka ranges have been slimmed down, making it easier for customers to distinguish core differences. Both electric versions, the Vauxhall Corsa-e and Vauxhall Mokka-e, will be trimmed to just two specification levels: GS Line and Ultimate. The updates arrive shortly after rival Renault recently announced updates to the Clio and Captur range.
The UK’s best selling car of 2021, the Vauxhall Corsa has been in high demand as an electric variant. Of the 40,000 cars sold last year to put it top of the sales charts, one in seven were electric.
Updates to both the Corsa and the Mokka include redesigned alloy wheels and tweaks to exterior styling to achieve a new brand identity dubbed ‘Vauxhall Vizor’. Unlike the recent Renault update that brought with it a mild price increase, Vauxhall has positioned its refreshed range to either match outgoing models or begin at a cheaper entry point. A headline saving of £3,150 can be made against the current top specification Corsa Ultimate, with the entry Corsa Design model now starting £500 lower than before.
The three new trim levels begin with the Design, which replaces the SE Edition on the Corsa. The entry model will retain the same level of technology – including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – and safety equipment, but will be £500 cheaper than the outgoing entry point in the Corsa range.
The Corsa GS Line replaces the SRI Edition and will be available with a three-cylinder petrol engine that was not offered previously in the mid-spec variant. Noticeable exterior changes include new sporty 17-inch black wheels and black exterior styling tweaks. Prices begin at £19,490.
Most noticeable is the price change of the Corsa Ultimate edition, with a £3,150 price drop over the starting price of the outgoing same-named variant. The model will retain current trim levels to include heated seats, LED matrix lights and adaptive cruise control.
The Corsa-e will now be only sold in two variants: the mid-range GS Line for those looking for sportier exterior looks, and the Ultimate. Vauxhall has done this to reflect customer demand for higher specification models of the electric model. The 50kWh battery has a WLTP range of 222 miles and can be charged to 80% in 30 minutes. Prices start at £27,055 for the GS Line and £29,660 for the Ultimate, both inclusive of the Government plug-in grant.
The Mokka-e will also only be available in GS Line and Ultimate, and retain the same specification and price as the outgoing variants they replace.
Vauxhall Mokka entry level Design models gain the option of the 1.2-litre engine with a manual gearbox, producing 128bhp; the eight-speed automatic option is retained from the previous Ultimate specification. Prices start at £22,265, matching the previous entry model and will include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Moving up the range to the GS Line adds sportier exterior trim and 18-inch wheels but at a price £1,500 lower than the previous equivalent specification. GS Line models begin at £24,640.
Ultimate variants of the Mokka also get the 1.2-litre petrol engine that is now offered with a manual gearbox on the highest-specification Mokka. The upgrades match those of the Corsa Ultimate to include lane-keep assistance and adaptive cruise control. The Ultimate will now start at £28,825.
