Luckily, you won't need to free up too much space to install Valorant on your PC. Here's what you need to know to download the game.

android, gaming, guides, android, valorant: what is the download size?

The day is finally here, Valorant has officially ended its closed beta and the full game is live. If you weren’t lucky enough to receive a beta key, you can now download the game for free on PC. If you have slow internet or limited free space on your PC, you might be wondering about the Valorant download size. Let’s take a look at what we know about the game’s install size.

What Is the Valorant Install Size?

Currently, players will need around 8 GB of free space to download Valorant on their PC. However, you’ll need to keep in mind that Valorant is a “live service” game, which means it will probably have a decent amount of large patches and updates on a regular basis. So you’ll probably want to free up a bit more space on your PC to make room for those.

Further, you won’t find the game on Steam, as it has to be downloaded directly from the Valorant website. At first, you’ll simply download the install client which is around 65 MB. From there you’ll need to download Riot Vanguard, which is a 3.6 GB anti-cheat system that every player must have before they can play. Once you’ve gotten that squared away, you’ll be able to install the rest of the Valorant files onto your PC, which will bring you to a grand total of somewhere between 7-8 GB.

It’s important to note that this is just the base install size for Valorant and it does not include any kind of day one updates or patches. It’s very likely that you will have to use up a few more GBs in the coming days and weeks if you want to continue playing Valorant, as that is the nature of this gaming genre.

In case you aren’t aware, the Valorant closed beta came to an end on May 28 and the game was officially launched on June 2. Unfortunately, all of the items that players earned in the closed beta were not carried over to the full game, except for the items earned from the Player Pass.

Currently, Valorant is a PC exclusive and is not available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, or Android. At the time of writing, there have been some leaks that suggest Valorant could come to other platforms in the future, but nothing concrete has been announced. If you want to know if your rig can handle Valorant, be sure to check out the required PC specs.
