2022 Kia Proceed: what is it?
The Kia Proceed is the shooting brake – or estate – version of Kia’s hatchback the Ceed. It’s always been a handsome thing but the current car has been on sale for three years so it’s being checked in for a midlife facelift.
Despite Kia’s best efforts to camouflage the car we can see that the grille has become more prominent and is flanked by revised LED lights.
The bumpers front and back are changing by the look of these pictures, and alloys bearing Kia’s new logo are obvious. In these pictures we can also make out red trim on the air intake which suggests it’s the hotter GT version.
The rear end is covered but it seems it’s become even sharper in angle and more streamlined.
2022 Kia Proceed: what is it powered by?
While there’s no official information from Kia on this it’s a safe bet that the standard car will get Kia and Hyundai’s 1.5-litre four-cylinder mild hybrid petrol engine, which is already put to good used in the Hyundai i30 and produces 158bhp.
The hotter GT model could be powered by a 1.6-litre turbo petrol which produces around 200bhp.
2022 Kia Proceed: when will it be on sale?
We will see the production-ready version of the Kia Proceed during the second half of this year but it won’t be in dealerships until the end of 2021 or early 2022.
2022 Kia Proceed: how much will it cost?
Again, there’s no official word from Kia, but at the moment the entry level GT-Line car costs £25,080 and it’s safe to say prices will creep upwards, so we expect it will start at around £27,000, while prices for the spicier GT model could tip over the £30,000 mark.
