UMW Toyota Motor sold 8,487 vehicles in March 2022, up 31.9 percent from the previous month’s 6,432 units, a result that the company says put it at the top as Malaysia’s No.1 non-national car company.
Of the total, sales of Toyota vehicles totalled 8,386 units, up from 6,336 units in February 2022, while Lexus sold 101 units, up from 66 units.
UMW Toyota Motor attributes its positive sales results to its ongoing March promotions offering soaring rewards to its customers including value added benefits worth RM4,000 for Toyota best-sellers such as and .

More importantly, the company has confirmed that it will be launching at least two new models later this year.
No further details were shared, but one of it is definitely the 2022 , which will replace the now-discontinued , and will be assembled by Perodua alongside the forthcoming D27A 2022 .

The identity of the second new model is still a bit hard to predict, unless the company is referring to a new variant. If that's the case, then it could be a GR Sport variant of the Yaris, or .
There's also the , but that's unlikely to be launched here until 2023, seeing that Thailand too has yet to launch the model there.
