Toyota is one of the most active automakers in the Asia-Pacific region and the same implies to Singapore as well. And going by the latest news from Toyota Philippines, we can expect similar updates in Singapore as well.
Toyota Philippines has teased the facelift model of the Vios small sedan ahead of its official unveiling on the 25th of July. Going by the teased images, there seems to be quite a lot of visible changes in the aesthetic side. One of the most noticeable changes is the replacement of the front grille. The new front fascia has a trapezoidal grille on the bumper and connects to the thin strip to air intakes around the logo.
Besides just these, there are some more changes that this facelifted Toyota Vios will get for the Philippines market. The halogen headlamps from the outgoing model will be replaced by LED units, along with integrated L-shaped DRLs. The illumination cluster brings the Philippines facelift very similar to the one already on sale in Singapore.
Apart from these, the Japanese automaker has not given out any other information, so it is likely to feature the same engine specifications. The model sold here features a 1.5-litre VVT-i engine that can churn out 105 bhp at 6,000 RPM, along with 140 Nm at 4,200 RPM. The power is sent down to the wheels via a 7-speed CVT gearbox with sequential shifts.
Since this facelift for the Philippines market looks similar to the present Singapore model, it might not be before the company plans to upgrade here. However, there is no news about the same yet.
