Get ready! The Toyota GR Corolla is almost here. In fact, Toyota just announced that its official unveiling is set for this Thursday, March 31 at 9:30 p.m. EST. To get the public salivating before that fateful date, the Japanese automaker just released a couple of teaser images and a video for our visual pleasure and curiosity.
The Toyota GR Corolla teaser images leave a lot to the imagination

After taking a good hard look at these two images, we still have no idea what the Toyota GR Corolla will fully look like. But from what we can tell, it’ll have flared fenders with (hopefully) real vents in addition to a “GR-Four” badge. That last detail is a delightful one for any JDM fans that are familiar with the Toyota Celica GT-Four that was produced in Japan in the mid-90s.
Nerd alerts and nostalgia aside, the GR-Four badging also means that this forthcoming Corolla on steroids could share the same all-wheel drivetrain as the rally-inspired GR Yaris. On that note, Car and Driver reports that the GR Corolla is expected to use the GR Yaris’ turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-three banger that produces 257 hp. Whether or not that comes to fruition, given our stricter U.S. standards, is yet to be seen.
