Although Toyota did showcase the teasers in the background, there is no official word yet.
Toyota recently took the wraps off the new-generation Land Cruiser Prado and the updated Land Cruiser 70 Series. However, according to a report, Toyota might be working on two potential Land Cruiser SUVs for the future.
As per the report, towards the end of the presentation of the Land Cruiser Prado, Toyota showcased a slide in the backdrop with silhouettes of two SUVs which could get the Land Cruiser nameplate. The first teaser is said to be a silhouette of the production version of Toyota’s Compact Cruiser EV concept, while the second one appears to be that of the larger bZ SUV concept, both of which were unveiled in 2021.
The silhouette of the production-spec Compact Cruiser EV reveals a design similar to that of its concept. The SUV comes with boxy proportions, a thick C-pillar and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. The silhouette of the larger bZ SUV seems to feature a new front-end design, different side moulding and a new beltline.
Although Toyota did showcase the teasers in the background, there is no official word yet on whether the two models will actually make it into production.
During the presentation, Toyota Motor Corporation Chief Branding Officer Simon Humphries said, “Our customers trust in us to keep LandCruiser relevant and thriving toward the future. And this future could mean anything from carbon neutral approaches to ensuring the Land Cruiser brand is more affordable and within reach of even more people around the world.”
