South Africans can now lease the cheapest Toyota in South Africa via its Kinto subscription service, which allows motorists to take home a vehicle for extended periods of time without worrying about the hassles of ownership.
The automaker is currently running an introductory promotion on its new entry-level car, the Toyota Vitz, letting consumers get behind the wheel of the entry-level 1.0 MT model for R2,999 per month for a total of 12 months or 18,000km (1,500km per month).
The contract includes warranty, service, and maintenance costs for the duration of the period, and comes with 24-hour roadside assistance and stolen vehicle recovery.
It also includes the initial licence and registration cost, as well as Connected Car services like in-car WiFi and Telematics.
Apart from the special proposal, there also exists the option to lease the Vitz 1.0MT and higher-spec XR models for up to 60 months which at the same 1,500km-per-month limit ranges between R3,674 and R5,067 per month, according to the Kinto website.
The mileage cap can also be doubled to 3,000km per month for 60 months, which sees the rental rates rise to between R4,449 and R5,887 per month. There are additional options for different mileage and contract lengths, too.

The Vitz is powered by a 1.0-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine which produces 49kW and 89Nm.
The model on offer utilizes a five-speed manual gearbox, resulting in an average fuel consumption of 4.4l/100km.
As far as its equipment is concerned, the hatchback comes standard with halogen headlights, 14-inch steel wheels, a full-sized spare wheel, a multifunction steering wheel, fabric upholstery, manual air conditioning, and two speakers, though a radio must be fitted at an additional cost.
It also has a boot with 295 litres of storage, and safety functions in the form of rear park distance control, ABS, electronic brake force distribution, vehicle stability control, and two front airbags.
The top-spec XR trim further adds remote central locking, all-round electric windows, a digital tachometer, a USB port, a multifunction steering wheel, four speakers, and a 7-inch infotainment screen with Bluetooth and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Furthermore, every unit has Toyota Connect support, which provides a GPS locator, and allows users to check things like the logbook, battery health, and service bookings via a smartphone app.
