Police are investigating the clash between two drivers in front of Wisma Saberkas, Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, Kuching two days ago. Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) are also urging the public to come forward to assist in the investigation.
Kuching district police chief (RMP), assistant commissioner Ahsmon Bajah said, his department has received a report on a video that was spread on Facebook showing an argument between two individuals while on a congested road.
In the incident, a local male suspect acted aggressively by getting out of his vehicle and knocking on the victim’s car window roughly, he said.
“Besides that, the suspect also issued threatening words to the victim as well as driving close by the victim's car to force him to a stop,” he said in a statement today.
Following the video, Ashmon said, a police report has been lodged where the case will be investigated under section 506 of the Penal Code, which is the offense of criminal intimidation.
According to him, if convicted, he will be sentenced to up to seven years in prison or a fine.
“An investigation under section 279 of the same code has also been opened on the offense of speeding driving on the road,” he said.
On that regard, he said, the police would not compromise on any individual who committed an offense and would be dragged to court for prosecution.
