The Toyota FJ Cruiser hasn’t been on sale in our local market since 2017, but in the Middle East, the utilitarian model has continued to sell unwaveringly. The Japanese off-roader is rumoured to have one Final Edition before being retired.

A few years ago, Toyota mentioned that they would launch a Final Edition derivative for the Japanese market but since then the model has still soldiered on in other global markets. This may be its final hoorah, with the latest FJ Cruiser Final Edition being limited to only 1 000 units.
After many global markets ceased selling the model after 2017, Toyota continued producing and selling the brute off-roader in the Middle East, with the model being most popular in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Toyota’s reliability and durability are a good combination for the vast expanses of dunes and harsh environment of the region but it seems the model will officially be put to rest.

Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, an authorized distributor of Toyota vehicles in Saudi Arabia for over 70 years has announced that the FJ Cruiser will have one Final Edition before production comes to an end in December this year.
No official images of the limited-edition model have been released yet but it is expected to be similarly equipped to the model launched in Japan seven years ago. The model in question wore a single-tone exterior trim that continued on the interior. Since it will be a limited edition model, there will likely also be a numbered plaque too. The grille, bumpers, mirror and door handles wore blacked-out trim but all of the inner workings remained the same. That means the same 4,0-litre V6 petrol motor remains, capable of 201 kW and 380 N.m.
