Without a question, the Toyota Corolla is one of the most popular cars in the world. The Japanese brand’s compact began commercial production in 1966 and has since sold more than 50 million units over the course of a dozen iterations. The Toyota Corolla 50 Million Edition is the Japanese brand’s way of commemorating this significant business milestone.
The Toyota Corolla has been around for twelve generations. The Japanese model was first introduced to the market in November 1966, and it has been a huge hit ever since.
A worldwide manufacturing model that is sold in several markets, with significant changes and even distinct surnames depending on the country of sale.
In the midst of the 12th generation’s commercial existence, the Japanese company commemorates one of the most significant milestones in the history of a model, and in the history of the Corolla in particular, as the company has produced no less than 50 million vehicles. An actual record figure that, in turn, provides its name to the limited-edition release that is being sold in Japan as an homage and for another purpose.
The Toyota Corolla 50 Million Edition also commemorates the model’s 55th year of debut, serving a dual purpose.
The Toyota Corolla has been around for 55 years and has sold 50 million units.
A distinctive picture distinguishes the anniversary edition. Customers may select an external color from a palette of six metallic or pearl effect hues, with “Slate Gray” and “Platinum White” being particularly appealing, and the glossy black enveloping the roof, mirror caps, front and back aprons, antenna, and even the rear spoiler.
New 17-inch matte black alloy wheels on the station wagon and sedan, and 16-inch alloy wheels on the five-door variant, complete the external look. On the two front wings of each of the three versions, there is a distinct symbol. Inside, the Corolla 50 Million Edition has red, orange, or gold leather upholstery with contrast stitching, as well as additional equipment like the 9-inch infotainment screen.
The Toyota Corolla 50 Million Edition is now only available in Japan, although the company has not excluded out expanding the special edition to other regions.
It comes in all three body types – the Corolla Sport 5-door, the Corolla Sedan, and the well-known Corolla Touring Sports – as well as the 122 hp self-recharging hybrid, with front and four-wheel drive. Only the sedan and station wagon come with the “E-Four” system.
