Hot on the heels of the new 2022 Baleno, Toyota will soon announce prices for the rebadged Glanza
After releasing several teasers of the upcoming Glanza, Toyota has announced that it will start accepting bookings for the new car. The new updated Glanza is based on the new-generation Maruti Suzuki Baleno which arrived a couple of weeks ago. The new Glanza looks very similar to the Baleno just like the previous version. But Toyota made sure that the front-end looks like the Glanza belongs to the Toyota family nonetheless.
The new Toyota Glanza will be a complete model change just like the Baleno. It will get the updated HEARTECT platform and the price announcement will happen on 15th March. Before the official price announcement, Toyota has started accepting the bookings for the new Baleno at a payment of Rs 11,000.
What is new in the 2022 Toyota Glanza?
The Toyota Glanza is coming back in an all-new version
All the updates that the new Glanza will get are similar to the new Baleno. They are essentially the same cars with different faces and trims. Toyota will offer four trims with the new Glanza – E, S, G and V. In the previous-generation model, the Glanza was available only with two trims.
The addition of new variants indicates that the base price of the Glanza will drop by quite a lot. The base E variant of the Glanza will only offer a manual transmission while all other variants will offer both AMT and manual. Interestingly, this is the first time ever that Toyota will offer an AMT with any car in India.
Most of the updates will be similar to the Baleno
The new Glanza also gets the new 1.2-litre K12N petrol engine that is available with the Baleno. It generates a maximum power of 90 PS and a peak torque of 113 Nm in the Glanza. Like the Maruti Baleno, it will get a five-speed manual and five-speed AMT gearbox. All the variants will get the start/stop system as standard.
