Sure, traditional postcards can be fun or well-written, but photo cards have a personal touch that sets them apart from the rest. So, from anniversaries and baby births to engagements and recovery, the best photo cards are a great choice. Toplist has compiled the best photo cards online.
Mixbook: Best photo cards overall
If you’re looking for a good middle ground between affordability and quality, we recommend Mixbook. The cards we ordered were of high quality and made to an impressive standard, and the site has many designs and templates to choose from. Mixbook offers a variety of styles and themes, so you can find cards for birthdays, baby showers, graduations, and all kinds of holidays. Mixbook also allows you to order more than one postcard, which is useful if you want to create a special postcard for that special someone.
The Mixbook also regularly offers discount codes and promotions on their cards, often displayed directly on the site, so it’s great for saving money, especially if you book in advance for birthdays and events throughout the year. I think there could be more envelope options and cheaper sites, but it’s a versatile mixbook that’s perfect for almost any occasion.
Reasons to buy
- +good value cards
- +regular discounts and coupons
- +high printing quality
Reasons to avoid
- -limited envelope options

Zazzle: Best variety of photo cards
Zazzle is not a standard photomap service. The company offers many custom photo gifts from professional designers and companies, and many designs are submitted by users. This means there are countless designs for all kinds of holidays.
We think Zazzle is an excellent choice for photo card suppliers as it offers great discounts on bulk orders and regular promotions. However, compared to other advanced sites that include this option, you cannot customize envelopes with restrictions and sometimes at no extra cost.
The Zazzle wasn’t the best in terms of quality, but we still found the cards enjoyable and generally satisfied with the finished product. Considering the affordability and customization options, I think this is the service for the best photocard sites.
- +a huge variety of card designs
- +great options for editing your photo card
- -cannot customize your envelope
- -no print-quality warning

Minted: Best value photo cards
Minted offers some amazing card designs, but it has a problem. You must order 25 or more to order on this photocard site. If you want to buy in bulk, Minted has a variety of designs for every vacation imaginable, and you can even pay a Minted artist to design a custom card for you.
This card isn’t the cheapest, but if you’re looking for a card that has all the features for the price, this is a good site. The stylish envelope design and numerous layout options included for free as part of your order mean this site offers incredibly good value if you want to impress.
- +great design quality
- +no hidden prices
- +free recipient addressing
- -minimum order of 25 cards

Meijer: More affordable photo cards
If you know the Midwest supermarket, Meijer, this photo service will be familiar. Like many other photo card services, this service thrives on wedding announcements, date cards, and Christmas cards. This is because many Meijer Photo cards are available with a minimum order of 12, making them more suitable for bulk orders.
The Meijer doesn’t have a wide selection of stencils and paper types, but they do a good job. Our postcards and envelopes were of high quality and our photo editor gave us many options to make our postcards special.
This was the cheapest site we tested and the shipping is also cheap, making it a great choice for those who want to send something special while spending a little less.
- +the cheapest site we tested
- +good quality printing
- +available in stores
- -lacking in stylish designs

Artifact Uprising: Best quality photo cards
In some cases, only the highest quality prints are possible. This is where Artifact Uprising comes in. Although a small business, we pride ourselves on making high-quality photo cards and other photo-based products. This has advantages and disadvantages. The upside is that the cards look and feel great, and you get stylish and beautifully designed cards. Envelopes, inserts, photo albums and everything else looks great and you know exactly where your money is going.
The downside here is that you have to pay a bit more for the print. If you order in batches, such as wedding invitations, they can be combined and delivery takes a little longer than many others. The support options here are friendly, but not as much 24/7 as the larger providers. But if that’s important to you (as it should be), then you’re supporting a small American business.
We love Artifact Rising and it’s worth spending a little more on special occasions. The site is easy to use, the products great, and the choice of options decent, if not exhaustive.
- +excellent printing
- +very classy range of designs
- -pretty expensive
- -slower shipping

Simply to Impress: Another good quality site
Simply to Impress, as the name suggests, impresses with its beautiful design and selection of end products. You can choose from six paper options: matte, satin, pearl, cardstock, double thickness cardstock and foil stamping.
Simply to Impress isn’t the cheapest photocard service, but it’s not that expensive considering the high-quality printing the company offers.
Simply to Impress allows you to pay extra for a service that saves your address and sends you a photo card. This is especially useful if you need to send a postcard quickly or if you are too busy to send it in person. You can choose from a variety of envelope colors and a variety of inner linings. The customization options aren’t quite as impressive as the Zazzle, but with so many cards to choose from, picking the design you want isn’t an option.
- +there’s a beautiful selection of designs
- +the lets you review printed proofs
- -minimum order of 15 cards
- -an expensive option

Shutterfly: Best for individual photo cards
Shutterfly is expensive, but a good option if you are ordering individual cards. The full range is often discounted by up to 50% to make up for the high pre-sale prices, but discounts on bulk orders won’t impress you.
The print quality is excellent and the envelope has free address printing, so you get more for your up-front cost than other sites. There are also a variety of stylish envelope designs and the option to mail your Shutterfly card. They are usually a good choice if they cover the vacation you are looking for.
- +no minimum orders
- +high quality cards
- -one of the most expensive sites
- -bulk discounts didn’t impress

Snapfish: Best satisfaction guaranteed photo cards
We weren’t impressed with the Snapfish prices that had risen when we got to the checkout. That said, you never know how much a card will cost when you start making it, and it ended up being one of the most expensive sites we’ve reviewed.
However, for an impressive holiday selection and convenience, there is an option to print in the store. Print was good, but not amazing quality. However, if you are dissatisfied, Snapfish offers a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, offering a full refund or card replacement if your order is unsatisfactory.
- +satisfaction guarantee
- +you can pick up some orders in-store
- -high shipping fees
- -expensive pricing which lacks transparency

Paper Source: Best for designer photo cards
Paper Source offers some great designs for photo cards, but with limited holiday coverage and paper options. We thought the cardboard was sturdy and of good quality, but the print itself wasn’t the best we’ve seen.
This option is for bulk orders and requires a minimum order of 20 cards in many designs. They can print addresses for you on a variety of envelopes, but be prepared to pay more for this service.
- +designs from brands you’ll recognize
- -printing wasn’t the best quality
- -an expensive option
- -minimum order of 20 cards
