Features
In terms of features, higher variants now get ADAS tech with active safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, low-speed follow, lead car departure, blind-spot detection and more. It is also worth mentioning that the ADAS tech is even offered in manual variants as well.
Other noticeable features on the facelifted version of the 2023 Honda City sedan now include 6 airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, rain-sensing wipers, ambient lighting, leatherette upholstery, LED headlights, auto-dimming frameless IRVM, leather-wrapped steering, and soft-touch dashboard.
Powertrain
The updated model now features two engine options that are compliant with the upcoming BS^ 2 emission norms and E20 fuel. The base 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine continues to produce 120bhp of power and 145Nm of torque and can be specified with a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.
On the other hand, the hybrid powertrain consists of a 97bhp, 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle engine and a 108bhp electric motor. In combined form, this hybrid unit is tuned to deliver 125bhp of peak power and 253Nm of peak torque.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the petrol-only version of the Honda City equipped with a manual gearbox can return a fuel efficiency figure of 17.8km/l, whereas the CVT variant is slightly more fuel efficient at 18.4km/l. While the Hybrid version claims to return 27.13km/l.
Price & Variants
Honda has introduced two new entry-level trims levels with the facelifted version of the City sedan, and this strategy has helped the company price the model aggressively and also offer ADAS tech at a lower price point.
The 2023 Honda City sedan is offered in 4 trim levels including the newly introduced entry-level ‘SV’ trim. While the Hybrid powertrain was previously limited to just ZX trim, this powertrain is now made available in 3 trim levels including V, VX, and ZX.
That being said, prices for the 2023 Honda City starts from Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and the V trim level equipped with ADAS tech is now priced at Rs 12.37 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
