Most automobile manufacturers are gearing up to launch their new products following the new year and here is the list of top 3 most-awaited cars for the month of February.
KIA CARENS
Kia is one of the fastest-growing automobile brands in India and the Kia Carens is the 4th model in the South Korean company’s product portfolio for India. According to Kia, the Kia Carens will be launched in the Indian automotive market this month.
With the launch of Kia Carens in India, Kia will be entering one of the most demanding automobile sectors in India where consumers demand space, luxury, features, and aggressive pricing.
The Kia Carens is powered by the same engine options as the smaller Kia Seltos. This means the upcoming Kia Carens will get 3 engine options.
We expect the 113bhp 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine and the 114bhp 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine to be more popular choice, whereas the punchy 138bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine will be the preferred choice for enthusiasts.
The Kia Carens also carries the same transmission options as the Kia Seltos and features transmission options such as a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT.
We expect Kia to price the Carens competitively in India with ex-showroom prices ranging between Rs 15 to Rs 20 lakh.
MG ZS EV
The latest update brings plenty of changes to the exterior, interior and powertrain of the MG ZS EV.
The updates on the front make it more in line with the design of the MG Astor and come in the form of a new front grille, new headlights, new taillamps, and a few more. Apart from that, the new bumper now sports different air intakes and looks a lot more aerodynamic.
On the inside, we believe the updated MG ZS EV will get all the latest goodies such as a 10.1-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and connected car features via MG’s iSmart platform.
However, the most substantial change is found under the skin, where the facelifted version of the MG ZS EV SUV gets its uprated battery pack. Thanks to the update, the MG ZS EV gets a larger 51kWh battery pack, whereas the current spec MG ZS EV comes with a 44.5kWh battery pack, which the company claims to deliver 340 kms of range on a single charge.
With the uprated battery pack, facelifted version of the MG ZS EV comes with a revised range of 419 kms on a single charge. MG Motor is gearing up for the launch of the updated MG ZS EV electric SUV in India before the end of February 2022.
MARUTI SUZUKI BALENO
Finally, Maruti Suzuki will be launching the updated Baleno in India and it is will come with a host of new features to compete with the latest offerings from its main competitor brands.
According to sources, the updates may include a fully digital instrument cluster, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, connected-car tech, and updated upholstery. There are even rumours that Maruti Suzuki may add some updated safety features as well.
However, the updated Baleno is most likely to use the tried-and-tested engine options from the outgoing model. This means the updated Baleno will also come with 1.2-litre naturally aspirated K12 petrol engine with 82bhp and 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine with slightly more power at 89bhp.
Both engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, however, the CVT automatic gearbox can only be had with a VVT engine. We expect the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno to be made available in four different trim levels and prices most likely to range between Rs 6 lakhs to Rs 10 lakhs.
