A two-alarm fire has broken out on the lot of the Tesla factory in Fremont, Calif. First-responders said a pile of cardboard pallets outside of the factory was the focus of the blaze, and no injuries have been reported.
NBC says there were are immediate reports of any injuries, and no evacuations have been ordered yet. A two-alarm blaze was reported, which means additional firefighting resources were requested by the first responders, which could include additional trucks and more personnel.
Images from the Fremont Fire Department show multiple trucks using hoses extended on booms to spray the fire in the parking lot from over Tesla’s security fence.
Frequent Fires at Fremont
Back in March 2021, the local Fremont fire department reported that it worked with Tesla’s factory response unit to battle a “deep-seated” fire involving a “vehicle stamping machine” after “hydraulic fluid contacted molten aluminum” and sparked a fire. A fire in 2019 involving a “10 foot by 10 foot area containing hazardous waste in an exterior storage area” had to be contained, and there was another outdoor fire involving a pile of trash back in 2018. No injuries were initially reported immediately following those three previous fires.
This is a breaking news story and will be updated with more information as soon as we have it.
