The transformation of humble mass-market cars to their exotic counterparts is now more popular than ever
Lamborghinis are known to be exclusive. But there are some cars from the Sant’Agata Bolognese, which push the envelope further and are even rarer due to their extremely limited production numbers.
One such car is the Lamborghini Centenario Roadster – a limited-edition supercar of which only 20 units were manufactured in 2016-17. No one from India was lucky enough to get hands-on with the Centenario Roadster But now someone has made a replica of the supercar.
Overview
A car modification house from Jaipur, Rajasthan named “Jaipur Jeep Lovers” has just made a replica of the Lamborghini Centenario Roadster, which is an eye-catching thing. For this replica, the modification house took the good old Honda Civic and transformed its entire body and interior to make it look like a Lamborghini Centenario Roadster.
Does not look like Honda Civic anymore
To begin with, all the body panels of the Honda Civic have been swapped for custom-made body panels, which mimic that of a Lamborghini Centenario Roadster. The car even gets a convertible roof, which folds down and closes, just like in a Centenario Roadster.

The entire car is finished in a theme of black and gets contrast orange touches on front and rear bumpers, rear fins, window waistline, rearview mirrors, side skirts, and pillars. This two-door car has scissor doors, which open upwards just at the touch of a button on the key. Even the large wheels, headlamps, and tail lamps resemble those of the Centenario Roadster, if not the same.
Changes inside the cabin
Not really!
On the inside, this Lamborghini Centenario Roadster replica doesn’t even come close to the original car’s premium appeal and minimalism. But the dual-tone black and orange upholstery do a fine job in making the cabin look special.
It is a Honda Civic modified into the rare Lambo
The dashboard of the Civic has been given contrast orange touches on the centre console and steering wheel, with the former accommodating a large aftermarket touchscreen infotainment system. The rear seats of the car have been taken out entirely to accommodate the roof panel when it folds down. This makes this replica a true two-seater car, just like the original Lamborghini Centenario Roadster.
No mechanical changes
But it draws power the from the same engine and transmission options
The modification house has retained the original 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine of the Honda Civic, which is mated to a CVT gearbox. However, the car produces a different exhaust note, which indeed sounds deep and resembles that of a Lamborghini supercar.
While this Lamborghini Centenario Roadster replica looks like an honest attempt, it still has a lot of rough edges here and there. It is also illegal to drive on public roads, as per a ruling stated by the Supreme Court of India in 2019. According to the decision, there is a ban on the use of vehicles that are modified on standards different from those provided by the manufacturer and changes the structure of the vehicle.
