Tesla has reduced new car inventory (not custom order) prices even further, with three-quarters of the lineup now eligible for attractive discounts.
First discovered by Drive Tesla Canada, the EV maker has slashed pricing for the high-end Model S and Model X. As per the report, some vehicles can be found with a $10,000+ drop. However, when CarBuzz looked at available cars in several large US cities, we could only find a maximum cost reduction of $7,500.
Unless you're determined to custom order your vehicle, you could pick up a brand-new Model S for $82,490, which is a steal. The Model X is subject to the same discounts; we found one example with a retail price of just $90,990. As a reminder, an entry-level model retails for $98,490 before any options.
Previously, both models were offered with $5,000 off the list price.

To further sweeten the deal, customers who take delivery of a new Model S or Model X before June 30 will receive three years of free Supercharging. This only applies to brand-new vehicles that are purchased for private use.
Three years of free charging is a good enough reason to buy any EV, but when it's tied into a lucrative discount, it's impossible to ignore. If buyers use a referral code, there's a limited $1,300 discount and three free months of Full Self-Driving.
If your budget can't stretch to the larger Tesla models, you'll be pleased to know the Model 3 is also being offered with a discount, although it's not quite as generous. We found a 2023 Model 3 Performance, fitted with $3,000 worth of options, selling for $53,140 – $100 cheaper than a custom-ordered base model.
Tesla
Overall, customers can expect a discount of $3,000 or so. Model 3 buyers can also look forward to three months of free supercharging. Remember, the prices seen here don't include the $7,500 EV tax credit. With various incentives, the Model 3 makes for an incredible buy.
Tesla's best-selling vehicle, the Model Y, is not subject to the above price cuts. Most examples available in Tesla's inventory are not offered with a discount, although we spotted some examples with $500 off the list price. The automaker doesn't need to incentivize the Model Y, as this electric crossover essentially sells itself.
We're guessing Tesla is trying to increase sales before June ends to inflate its second-quarter figures.
