Tata Motors has revealed the Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition and the sub-4m SUV will be auctioned at IPL 2022.
Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition is a “one-of-a-kind” SUV, named after the Kaziranga National Park in Assam. According to Tata Motors, the Punch Kaziranga Edition will be auctioned at IPL 2022 and the proceeds from that auction will directly benefit the conservation of Kaziranga National Park.
Moreover, the Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition gets a ‘Meteor Bronze’ exterior paint scheme and the limited edition is based on the top-spec ‘Creative’ trim.
Apart from that, Tata Motors recently revised the prices of Tata Punch micro-SUV and prices now start from Rs 5.64 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Speaking about Tata Punch, the micro-SUV quickly became one of the best-selling vehicles in Tata Motors lineup and stands just below the Tata Nexon SUV in terms of sales volume.
Apart from that, the latest micro-SUV from Tata Motors has also received a 5-star safety rating for adult protection by Global-NCAP with a score of 16.45 points out of 17, making it the safest car in India.
In terms of design, the new Tata Punch micro-SUV looks very bold and almost identical to the original Tata HBX concept car.
Measuring at 3,827mm long, 1,742mm wide, and 1,615mm high, the new Tata Punch is a smidge smaller than the Tata Nexon and Tata Altroz. Despite this relatively small footprint, the Tata Punch has an SUV-like stance, thanks to its tall and upright frontend.
Like other cars Tata Motors, Tata Punch comes loaded with many features such as a large 7-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, semi-digital instrument console, iRA connected car tech, automatic climate control, natural voice recognition function for voice commands, multi-function steering wheel, smart keyless entry, push-button start/stop, power-operated ORVMs with auto-folding, cruise control and many more.
Moreover, Tata Motors has added a feature called ‘Terrainpro’ technology that urges the driver to activate the system when the car detects traction loss. Once the system is activated by the user, the system starts to display a series of instructions on the large touchscreen infotainment screen to guide the driver out of the low-traction situation.
The Tata Punch uses the ALFA-ARC platform that also happens to underpin the Tata Altroz premium hatchback and comes with safety features such as dual front airbags, first-in-segment ‘Brake Sway Control’, ABS, EBD, cornering stability control, ISOFIX child seats, and many more.
The Tata Punch is powered by a 3-cylinder 1.2L petrol engine with ‘Dynapro Technology’, which is essentially a ram air intake system, which as per Tata Motors provides better low-end torque.
This engine produces 84.48bhp of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 113Nm of peak torque at 3,300 rpm and unlike the Tata Altroz, the Tata Punch comes with a choice of either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
Thoughts About Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition
