Recently, Tata Motors revealed the Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition and the company said that the model will be auctioned at IPL 2022 and the proceeds from that auction will directly benefit the conservation of Kaziranga National Park in Assam.
Now, Tata Motors has released a new teaser hinting at introducing Kaziranga Editions of Nexon, Harrier and Safari in the near future.
The teaser is titled “The call for the #Untamed begins!” and shows Tata Punch, Nexon, Harrier and Safari lined side-by-side with their headlights turned on. However, unlike normal headlight beam pattern, these headlights together project a silhouette of a Rhinoceros on the ground.
According to surveys, there are approximately 3,000 rhinoceros in the world, out of which 2/3rd of the rhinos are found in Kaziranga National Park. However, these rhinos face danger from poachers and are on the brink of extinction.
For the protection and welfare of these rhinos in the Kaziranga National Park, Tata Motors will be donating every last penny from the auction to the Kaziranga National Park.
According to Tata Motors, Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition is a “one-of-a-kind” SUV, based on the top-spec ‘Creative’ trim of the Tata Punch SUV. The Kaziranga Edition of the Tata Punch also sports a special ‘Meteor Bronze’ exterior paint scheme, and a Rhino emblem on the rear windshield.
Other than this, the Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition also sports ‘Kaziranga’ scuff plates, and a Rhino image embossed on the glove box.
Apart from that, the Tata Punch has also received a 5-star safety rating for adult protection by Global-NCAP with a score of 16.45 points out of 17, making it the safest car in India and comes with safety features such as dual front airbags, first-in-segment ‘Brake Sway Control’, ABS, EBD, cornering stability control, ISOFIX child seats, and many more.
Measuring at 3,827mm long, 1,742mm wide, and 1,615mm high, the new Tata Punch is the smallest vehicle built on the ALFA-ARC platform that also happens to underpin other models such as Tata Nexon and Tata Altroz.
Despite this relatively small footprint, the Tata Punch has managed to master the SUV-like stance with its tall and upright frontend.
Tata Punch also comes loaded with many features such as iRA connected car tech, automatic climate control, natural voice recognition function for voice commands, multi-function steering wheel, smart keyless entry, push-button start/stop, a large 7-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, semi-digital instrument console, power-operated ORVMs with auto-folding, cruise control and many more.
The Tata Punch is powered by a 3-cylinder 1.2L petrol engine with 84.48bhp of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 113Nm of peak torque at 3,300 rpm. However, unlike the Tata Altroz, the Tata Punch comes with a choice of either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
Apart from that, Tata Motors recently revised the prices of Tata Punch micro-SUV and prices now start from Rs 5.64 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
