The special-edition DS 3 Crossback Louvre gets an in-car art gallery and a choice of petrol and electric powertrains
The new DS 3 Crossback Louvre special edition has been revealed. The limited-run model adds several styling tweaks to the brand’s smallest SUV model, along with an art mode for the infotainment system, which displays artworks from the Louvre museum in Paris.
The DS 3 Crossback Louvre is available to order now. Prices start from £34,420 for the base petrol engine, rising to £40,800 for the fully-electric E-Tense model. Rivals include small premium SUVs such as the Audi Q2, BMW X2 and the Lexus UX.
To set it aside from regular models, the DS 3 Louvre can be specced in a choice of monochrome paint colours with a black contrasting roof panel. The brand has added a number of subtle changes to the outside, including special badges on the bonnet, rear hatch and front doors, while the nose of the car gets an Onyx Black DS badge. The front grille pays tribute to the Louvre, with pyramid logos featuring on the centre of the front grille, the car’s 18-inch alloy wheels and on the mirror caps.
Inside, black nappa leather trimmed seats are fitted along with black leather trim pieces on the dashboard and door panels. Like the exterior, DS has placed a matching pyramid logo on the dashboard, along with a laser engraved logo of the museum on the gear selector. A leather-trimmed steering wheel is also fitted, featuring contrasting pearl stitching and matching coloured trim inserts.
The dashboard houses the same 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen as the standard car, which is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. However, the Louvre includes a special art gallery feature that can showcase artwork that is displayed at the famous French museum. A total of 182 artworks can be displayed on the screen, with each accompanied by a podcast that gives information on the art piece shown. World famous artworks such as The Mona Lisa and the Egyptian statue of the Seated Scribe are included.
Buyers can spec the DS 3 Crossback Louvre with a choice of petrol or electric power. The base PureTech 130 petrol produces 128bhp, while the PureTech 155 gets an increased power output of 153bhp. Both petrol can manage over 40mpg, and are equipped with an automatic gearbox. The electric E-Tense model is powered by the same 134bhp electric motor used in the Peugeot e-2008, and can officially manage a range of up to 212 miles.
