If you’ve been putting off buying a Ram TRX because you simply can’t stand to have it in the same shade as the one yer buddy bought last year, you’ve officially run out of excuses. Witness the new so-called Sandblast Edition, a trim package which melds a new colour with a raft of premium features.
Starting with a TRX laden by its Level 2 Equipment Group, the Sandblast Edition includes Mojave Sand exterior colour, jazzy graphics, unique 18-inch bead-lock-capable wheels, and a bedliner. This is a combination of gear and colours not previously known to TRX buyers. The hand-of-god 6.2L supercharged V8 remains under the hood, as nature and the Dodge Brothers intended.
Inside, look for colour-matching trim on the seats, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and unique carbon-fibre accents (or at least a carbon-fibre imitation). There’s also a flat–bottom steering wheel, unique centre console badge, and heads-up display so one never need take their eyes off that sand dune from which they’re about to launch their six-figure truck.
“Our customers want to stand out from the crowd and the new Ram 1500 TRX Sandblast Edition allows them to do just that, while offering the segment’s best combination of performance, capability and technology,” said Mike Koval Jr., Ram brand CEO.
“We’re constantly expanding and exploring new ideas to meet the needs and fuel the imagination of our passionate customers.”

The cynic amongst us wants to point out that new trims such as the Sandblast are a relatively inexpensive way to maintain public interest in a vehicle which has been on the market for a hot minute. On the other hand, it’s a good idea to provide ample choice when presenting customers with an expensive pickup truck.
How expensive? Try $129,370, a sum which includes a sky-high $2,795 destination charge. New 2022 Ram 1500 TRX Sandblast Edition models go on sale this summer.
