Renault holds 22.5% of the Slovenian market in October.

New car sales in Slovenia drop -7.2% year-on-year in October to 4,221 units, that’s enough to tilt the year-to-date tally into negative territory at -0.9% to 47,319 sales. Renault (+38.8%) blissfully ignores the negative context to remain in the brands’ pole position with a smashing 22.5% share to be compared with 11.5% year-to-date. It distances Volkswagen (-37.6%) in great difficulty at 9.8% share vs. 16.2% so far this year. Hyundai (+8.5%) counters the market dynamics with an uptick but the most impressive brand in the Top 10 is Kia (+115.3%), more than doubling its sales year-on-year. Opel (+57.3%), Ford (+44.6%), Citroen (+32.6%), Peugeot (+22.5%) and Toyota (+18%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Skoda (-60.6%) falters. Further down, notice also Volvo (+156.3%), Tesla (+100%) and Porsche (+100%) in outstanding shape.

Model-wise, the Top 6 best-sellers all score positive result, starting with the Renault Clio (+47.8%) cementing its domination with 10.4% share vs. 4.9% so far this year. The Peugeot 2008 (+71.5%) soars up 29 spots on last month to land in 2nd place overall, equalling its ranking record also reached in August 2020. The Renault Captur (+26.1%) drops one spot on September to #3, ahead of the VW T-Cross (+19.6%) staying at #4. Both the Hyundai Tucson (+447.6%) and Kia Sportage (+390.5%) display extravagant growth below. The Citroen C3 (+117.1%) and Ford Tourneo Custom (+36.5%) also advance in the remainder of the Top 10. The Hyundai Bayon is up 37 ranks on last month to #18, dominating recent launches above the VW ID.4 (#33), Opel Mokka (#36) and Citroen C4 (#48).
