Drivers need to know where and when to stop along the way, or they’ll run out of battery power. Luckily, automakers are beginning to provide charging stations and smartphone applications, allowing you to find the nearest station at any time.
Another problem for many EV owners is the ability to charge their cars. Suppose you live in a multi-unit dwelling or only have street parking nearby your home; good luck charging an electric vehicle. In addition, charging can take hours, especially without DC fast charging capability. However, even with DC fast charging, it can take 30 to 60 minutes to charge most models fully.
Finally, like with regular car batteries, the temperature has an impact. The driving range can be reduced because of very high or low temperatures for electric vehicles. As a result, it’s difficult for people who live in the far north or south to justify owning an EV if owners must keep it outside.
