The Royal Malaysian Police’s (PDRM) traffic investigation and enforcement unit (JSPT) confirmed yesterday that it has arrested the driver of the registration number BPV 686 for road bullying.
Earlier yesterday, a dashcam recording of the said Alphard aggressively to cutt queue by using the emergency lane went viral on social media. At one point the driver parked his car diagonally in the middle of a highway to challenge another vehicle who didn’t move aside for him.
The video caught the attention of the Gombak district police department on the same day, saying that it is now on the hunt for a Toyota Alphard with the registration number BPV 686.
The police acted swiftly and the driver was arrested in a matter of hours after the police department’s initial announcement.
“The driver has been arrested under Sek.42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. More development will be shared by the Gombak district police department,” said a brief statement by JSPT yesterday.
The police also confirmed that the driver has 56 outstanding summonses.
The offence happened at between the kilometer 25.1 and kilometer 27.5 marker of the Karak Highway, heading towards Genting Sempah.
